Emily and Jonathan- Romantic Riverfront Wedding
The song which played during their first dance said it all:
“I don’t get many things right the first time
In fact, I am told that a lot
Now I know all the wrong turns
The stumbles and falls brought me here
And where was I before the day
That I first saw your lovely face?
Now I see it every day
And I know
That I am
–The Luckiest Lyrics, BEN FOLDS
Where/ How Did You Meet?
We had the cliche office romance, we started secretly dating a month after I started working at the same company as Jonathan. A group of coworkers would go play trivia every week, which is how Jonathan and I got to know each other outside of the office.
Where Did He Propose?
I was working on my Masters degree in an evening program, and came home after a late class to a candlelit path to the balcony. Our song was playing, Jonathan had strung up twinkling lights all around the balcony, and had a dozen red roses waiting.
Did you Cry, Laugh, or Both?
Surprised or Not?
I was very surprised!
“The Luckiest” by Ben Folds. This was also our first dance song, and has always been “our song.”
Favorite Part of Your Wedding Day?
Seeing all of our loved ones in one place was really great. We also had an amazing fireworks send off over the lake at our reception that was picture- perfect!
Any Big Changes Since Married?
The biggest change is that we’re now expecting our first child! It’s been an exciting and busy year full of adventures, and we’re looking forward to our next biggest adventure yet!
